Brief History of Friendship Baptist Church

Friendship Baptist Church was established in May 1982. Our first Sunday service was held in a home with a group of 59 worshippers. It was during this time that the group was asked to choose a name for their group and they felt that the name “Friendship” embodied the essence of what they wished to present to the world. Thus began Friendship Baptist Church of Coquitlam. Reverand John Davies was our first pastor.

The present two-and-a-half acre site became the home of Friendship Baptist Church during a dedication ceremony on the March 18, 1984. Renovations to the building took place in 1985, 2003, and 2007.

Friendship Baptist Church is a member of the British Columbia Baptist Conference (BCBC), which is itself a district of the Baptist General Conference of Canada (BGC).

Friendship Baptist Church is a place to belong and discover all that God has for your life. We welcome individuals and families of all ages to connect with others, explore, and grow in their Christian faith. We're not afraid to ask difficult questions, admit our fears and failures, and put our trust in God's plan for our lives.

We welcome you to join us:
